About the adventure
It can be the greatest of pleasures to light a match, especially when you expect to blow up society with it. There is a city, its halves joined by nothing but vitriol and a train line. Above, Rahyae glitters alchemical lanterns and fills its streets with the braying pageantry of the well-to-do, whose poisons are tossed thoughtlessly to seep downriver. Below, Æthanor screams smoke from belching furnaces and scolding pipes, a ramshackle city of cutthroats, and outcasts. Intrigues and treachery abound in both, and as tensions rise, but one thing is for sure... Revolution draws near. A rollicking and explosive adventure in a custom setting, inspired by events in revolutionary France & Victorian England, and the likes of "Arcane", "V for Vendetta", Scott Lynch's "Gentleman Bastard" series, and China Meiville's "New Crobuzon" series. ***** ABOUT THE GM: Ahoy! My name is Davey (he/they), and I'm a professional storyteller, actor, writer, and theatremaker. I've been GMing for almost a decade. 🎻 I write bespoke theme songs for D&D characters & campaigns with Bards For Hire: linktr.ee/bardsforhire/ 🎭 I'm the director of an award-winning immersive theatre/LARP company 📺 I was once hired as the expert Dungeon Master for Australia's "Beauty & the Geek", (I'm not sure if this is a high or low point of my career - but it was one of them!) Gameplay details
CHARACTER LEVELS 🔸 Your character will join at level 7! PLAYER EXPERIENCE 🟣 This game is open to all levels of play, but AT LEAST BEGINNER FAMILIARITY with D&D is highly encouraged. 🟣 HOWEVER, if you are brand new to the game you can still join but an additional session is essential before session 1 to teach you how to play. During that extra session, I'll go over the rules with you, and we can have some practice so that we can keep the pacing fast and exciting once the campaign is underway! Please contact me to organise this if needed. ***** SAFETY TOOLS: Player safety is a BIG THING at my table. Gaming is about play and you can only play if you feel safe! ➖ You will receive a survey in which you can let me know any access or trigger needs before the game. ➖ I will stay on the call for 15 minutes after each session to have a debrief and aftercare with whoever needs it. ➖ X, N, & O cards can be visual, messaged, or communicated in whatever way is easiest for you. ➖ Luxon Technique is available for those who prefer it. ➖ Several other options will also be given in terms of managing content warnings and triggers. I will never ask for justifications for your choices, and you never need to justify your preferences. ➖ Additional safety options are available if requested.
