About the adventure
You enter the fog-cloaked country of Barovia, a forested nation full of deadly terrors and soul-searing trials. A maze of horrific challenges lie between you and Castle Ravenloft. Will you emerge from this sun-forsaken land victorious? Will anyone? Here you’ll face dread beasts & other foul creatures in the woods. Ghosts and vampiric spawn might haunt every shadow. Monsters of every shape & description have slipped loose from your nightmares to fill the countryside where you are well & truly TRAPPED. If you ever hope to see your homeland again, you must do the impossible and Slay the Vampire King. Strahd must fall. This game is not for the meek or the timid. Unsettling horrors await that will try your courage and test your nerve. (The DM uses Lines & Veils to ensure a custom-tailored experience that frightens but doesn’t traumatize.) PC death is a distinct possibility, depending on your actions. The GM is on your side. The NPCs are not. Barovia is not a welcoming land, & the ground on which you stand is unsafe. How to prepare
Players should know the 5th edition standard D&D rules, have their PC approved before session 00, and have a free membership on Roll20 where we will be running the game. Discord chat is also available. A home set-up that includes a microphone & camera is encouraged but not mandatory. We'll be using milestone achievements to level up, including home-brewed side quests & a core campaign that's been updated with special surprises!
What I provide
I'll bring maps, music, & over a decade's experience providing a gripping narrative that chills the blood. Roll20 will provide the dice rolls. I'll also provide occasional artwork, visual aids, & a vast range of character voices for a 'full cast' of NPCs.
Gameplay details
Lines & Veils sheets are shared with the players to fill out in advance of Session 00. Players can prepare non-human characters with the knowledge that it may impact how they're perceived by xenophobic Barovians. The DM will also check in with players post-game to ensure personal boundaries / comfort zones are never crossed. Just because it's a horror game doesn't mean the *player* should feel unsafe. Our table is LGBTQ-friendly & inclusive.

How will character creation work
Players can bring in their own level 01 PCs for customization & approval. The DM works w/ players to understand their characters and provide a tailored story around them. Alternatively, basic level 01 PC pre-builds will be available for customization as well. It's simply up to the player to provide backstory, personal detail and the 'fingerprints' that bring a character to life.
