How to prepare

We will have a review of the rules in the session 0 and just before the game begins. I can also send you PDFs on them if you'd like to read up beforehand. You will need a Discord account with a working mic (video is optional) Please sign up for an account on the Forge https://as.forge-vtt.com/ - this where I host Foundry VTT Dice rolling will be done using Foundry VTT

Gameplay details

📜 NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY! If this is your first ever game of Candela Obscura, or you don't know much about it, then don't fret! I love helping new players discover this wonderful game. 📜 We will use Foundry VTT for visuals, music and dice rolling and Discord for voice chat (video is optional). 📜 We will have a small 'session 0' one-on-one type interview by message or on a discord call before the game starts to talk about the game, your expectations, lines viels and triggers and quick get to know you chat. It should not take longer than 15 minutes. 📜 I like lots of role play in my TTRPGS, both as a GM and a player. Candela Obscura provides ample opportunity for that! 📜 This campaign will have its challenges. Character death is a real possibility in this game. Be ready to have a back up option from one of the pre-gens that I will provide. 📜 This game will sometimes have dark themes. If there any lines or triggers that you have, then please let me know so that I can adjust things accordingly. 📜 I like to do voices and really get into character. For players, it's up to you how much you want to get into it. There's no pressure at all to be on the Critical Roll level! But if you want to, by all means bring it on! 📜 Helpful discussions at the table are encouraged. However, overt-metagaming and telling other people how to play their characters and the GM how to run the game will not be tolerated. I also like players to be prepared and on time. 📜 There will be a ten minute break half-way through sessions for bathroom and snack breaks.

How will character creation work

There are 5 pre-gen character roles to choose from. You can of course name them, give them their own personalities and character art. You can choose from the following roles: Slink (a streetwise scout) Scholar (a well read educator) Face (a good talker / entertainer) Weird (expert in the occult) Muscle (a tenacious operator) Again, these can be reflavoured to your liking :-). I can send you the role sheets PDF if you want to look them over in more detail.
