About the adventure
A Monsterhearts 2 four episode series. One of the Small Towns I wrote a while back! Wayward Cove is a small fishing town within a sheltered bay in the cold, northeast of the United States. Lovingly nicknamed ‘WC’ or ‘Water Closet’, the smell of fish and trash pollution isn’t very attractive to the tourists, which is just fine for the insular locals. Only a few miles away from the harbor is the completely refurbished colonial neighborhood, Easter Community, where you and most everyone you know in town live. It’s too quiet and cramped around here. It smells like fish and sewage water on the snow. One wrong move and some old lady you grew up with tells your parents that “she’s worried about you”. It’s suffocating, but you can’t leave. Something happened to you when you were a child, and for as long as you can remember, you’ve been harboring a hellish secret to yourself or with your family and friends. Your people have grown to depend on you somehow because of this. For now, you keep your head down. Just try to exist or brainstorm how to get out until you can. All you need to remember... is that the people of this town know more and do more than they let on. NOTE: We will be playing university aged people. Familiarize yourself with Monsterhearts 2 and its romantic/intimate mechanics if that may be a limitation for you. Recommended Skins: - The Serpentine - The Hollow - The Infernal - The Cerberus - The Ghost - ...and you will also have free access to the Skins that I wrote! The Minotaur and the Daphnaie. https://scarydogfriend.itch.io/volatile

About me
Hello, I'm Josephine Kim (none/she)! I'm an intimate and personal horror content creator who streams, podcasts, and produces all manner of shows about monsters. With me, expect worlds of homebrew and in-lore alike to push themes of monstrosity, uncomfortable social relationships and interactions, your bodily autonomy, and intimacy non-exclusive to romance. Let's tell some sad but badass stories about fighting inner demons as actual demons. GUDIYA, a Bluebeard's Bride one-shot hosted by Nameless Domain that I facilitated, won Best of the Best in Audio Fiction over at NJ Web Fest! Check out the first part here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYP0fqZXAqE I co-host a podcast called Monster Fuckers Anonymous, which is about Rating and Dating monsters with my friend @cleric_34. Find it anywhere you listen to podcasts! https://open.spotify.com/show/4WKzayNpnsfZsjpYSywVQ6?si=5c480546f8e448c8

Creating your character
Monsterhearts 2 uses Powered by the Apocalypse. We'll be starting with Level 0 and making advancements every episode. I will provide character sheets on Google Sheets (unless there is a more accessible way to create characters per group). We'll be creating the characters altogether!
Weekly on Thursdays @ 8 PM ET If you believe you'll need more time to familiarize yourself with the game, I'll have office hours in my Discord server (WIP).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A webcam/video is not mandatory but I will always be using my video for your immersive experience. Please have a mic and a generally quiet background during session. We will be reading the rules together during Session 0! I do recommend you familiarize yourself with the romantic and intimate nature of Monsterhearts 2 before applying. You will only need 2D6, which you can easily ask Google to help you out with!
What Josephine Kim brings to the table
I will be bringing source materials, the Discord/Google Meets room, and the musical atmosphere.

How Josephine Kim creates a safe table
I will have a Lines & Veils document for all of us to fill out anonymously during Session 0. I will specify if I need people to give me a physical or verbal indication if everyone is ready to proceed. I make strong distinctions between visual, verbal, and written content warnings. If anyone needs captions to lip read along we will use Google Meets. If there is no preference, we will use Discord for audio (video optional). The aftercare and decompression afterward can vary from talking about what everyone enjoyed about each other's playstyles or performances, hanging out until the allotted time, or just asking each other questions.
