About the adventure
In the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game, take on the roles of Marvel's most famous Super Heroes—or create your own—to fight some of the most dangerous Super Villains in the Marvel Universe! You and your team will work together to handle threats ranging from vampires raiding blood deliveries to a shadowy organization kidnapping metahumans. But remember, being a hero isn't just about fighting prowess: it's about using great power responsibly, helping those who need it most. This game uses the Marvel Multiverse RPG via Roll20 (and Discord). It's suitable for new players, and there will be premade characters available if needed.

About me
Greetings, adventurers! Like most DMs, I got started as a player and then experimented with one-shots. As someone who writes plenty of horror, I'm happy to run creepy, thrilling, or terrifying adventures, especially around Halloween. I'm equally excited to run low-stakes shenanigans and puzzle-based gameplay. Sometimes I homebrew, and sometimes I draw on premade settings or adventures. But no matter what, I'll make sure everyone at the table is included and having a good time (no matter what mishaps are befalling your characters)

Creating your character
Characters will be created via Roll20 before the game starts or during a session 0. I'll also have premade characters available that can be used as-is or customized according to player preferences in case of last-minute joiners.
We are actively looking for more players! Our first session back from hiatus (September 24) will be an onboarding / soft reboot, so this is a great time to jump in. Campaign meets Wednesdays at 7 pm EST. We're at Rank 3 with a rank cap of rank 4. Yes, we would like more players; this is a long-term campaign, so we just need to have a pseudo-session zero to better integrate your character into the party. The team's current members include an elastic shapeshifting pro wrestler. Please note this is a heroic* campaign, which means generally try to help people + no killing unless there are extenuating circumstances (e.g. evil undead). Also, while things can get serious, they can also get absurd, and the overall tone is very much not gritty *but well-meaning characters who make mistakes is fine Also, a few notes about the setting and recent events: -The FF4 are major organizers within the superhero community, and the team somewhat has their backing. Valeria + Franklin both exist. Also, Sue Storm was recently discovered to have (consensually) bonded to a symbiote that lets her go without sleeping indefinitely -speaking of symbiotes, Harry Lyman was being stalked by them, but after agreeing to resume contact with his father Norman Osborn, the incidents have not-so-mysteriously stopped -Speaking of Osborns and Lymans, Dr. Emily Lyman runs her own research company that produces technology to assist metahumans who have trouble controlling their powers. She formed said company after a messy divorce from Norman Osborn. -There's a "charity" called United Voices that is involved in searching for a "cure" for metahumans. It has ties to Wilson Fisk, and is heavily suspected to have been involved in kidnapping metahumans -Fisk recently hired Deadpool to assassinate Osborn, who survived (apparently due to some sort of healing factor) -Also, Fisk seems to have been involved in a scheme to eliminate rent-controlled properties, and Matt Murdock has gotten involved in the legal battle to prevent this -Green Goblin is on the loose, and his been involved in distributing power-neutralizing nanites (the group + Deadpool blew up that lab though), planting bombs all over NYC, and nearly unleashed power-amplifying nanites to sow chaos -However, The Hand bought some of those nanites and figured out how to replicate them -Madame Gao had blackmail material on Wilson Fisk, but the team has stolen it -AIM is no longer an issue -Steve Rogers was unfrozen but hasn't publicly come forward as Captain America, so most people don't realize he's back -Current Avengers lineup is Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hank Pym Ant Man, and The Wasp. -The X-Men are around, as is the Xavier Institute; Charles Xavier is in charge of both. Beast and Storm have both appeared as X-Men. Emma Frost, meanwhile, is not affiliated with them, instead doing her own thing as a fashion designer and mutant rights activist (and has distanced herself from her time in the Hellfire Club, which no longer exists) -Yes, magic is real. Dr. Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme and in charge of the NYC Sanctum. -By popular vote, the organization formerly known as the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants has renamed itself the Fellowship of X-Humans in order to be more gender inclusive
What to expect

I'll be hosting the players via Discord and Roll20. Therefore, players will need the following: -A stable internet connection -A Discord account -To join the Discord server prior to Session 0 -A way to participate in Discord text chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A microphone to participate in Discord voice chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A webcam for video chat (optional, you're not required to show your face) -The ability to complete a Google survey -The ability to join Roll20 -Dice (optional, Roll20 has virtual dice)
What Julia LaFond brings to the table
Roll20 will have all necessities for character creation, including premades if needed. It also includes art and maps necessary for gameplay itself. My Discord server will provide additional communication tools and a place to hang out before and after games. But most importantly, I'll be doing my utmost to ensure that the players (but probably not the characters) are having a great time.
Homebrew rules
My main homebrew is that telekinesis scales based on Brilliance in the same way that super-strength scales based on Mighty

How Julia LaFond creates a safe table
Before the game I'll send out a Google form to collect anonymous information on Lines and Veils, where Lines are topics players don't want featured in the game, and Veils are topics they'd prefer to be glossed over if they come up. We'll discuss the aggregated Lines and Veils, expectations for the game, player questions, tech compatibility, and the rest of the safety tools during Session 0. But to briefly review the rest: X, N, and O are digital (can be typed in text chat, said vocally, or mimed on video chat), with the possibility of digital tokens in Roll20. Open Door means anyone can call a break or step away for their own wellbeing without being judged for it. Stars and Wishes mean that at the end of each session, all players will have the chance to say a Star (something they enjoyed about the session) and a Wish (something they hope for in the next session, including areas that could improve). I'm also glad to discuss concerns, including clarifying the content warnings, before the one-shot via direct message. I'll be hosting the players via Discord and Roll20. Therefore, players will need the following: -A stable internet connection -A Discord account -To join the Discord server prior to the game -A way to participate in Discord text chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A microphone to participate in Discord voice chat (if this isn't feasible for disability reasons, please give me a heads-up so I can accommodate) -A webcam for video chat (optional, you're not required to show your face) -The ability to complete a Google survey -The ability to join Roll20 -Dice (optional, Roll20 has virtual dice enabled)
