But when an ill omen stirs the patrons of the Elfsong Tavern, rumors of a cult on the rise, and recent devilish appearances - Baldur's Gate is yet again facing doom. Can you save the city of Baldur's Gate from a descent into the first layer of hell? Will the irredeemable find redemption? Does a heraldic fate befall Baldur's Gate and plunge the city into further strife?! In this remastered campaign, fight for the city of Baldur's Gate itself, seek out the mysterious chaos mage Emirikol, sail the river styx in a fragment of the abyss, and embark on two dozen potential side-quests!

Recruiting notes

Hello all! We are currently in the midst of the campaign, running weekly on Tuesdays! Having sailed the River Styx on a fragment of the Abyss known as the Demonwing to find it, the party has finally arrived in Elturel and rescued Grand Marshall Ulder Ravengard from the clutches of a demonic possession. With the Helm of Torm's Sight temporarily safe to use, the party will gain new insight to their goals, and a powerful artefact to utilize should they choose to do so... Party is currently at Level 9! Available to catch new players up with a private Session 0! Pregenerated Characters Available!

How to prepare

Players will need an account (free or paid, but free is sufficient) on: - Roll20.net for maps. -Discord, to communicate with the other players and the GMs before and after the session; as well as for Voice (Video is optional) - If you wish to utilize DND Beyond, please install the Beyond20 Extension! Reading through the basic knowledge of D&D 5e and your character's abilities and features is highly recommended for optimized play time.

What I provide

- Battlemaps, bad puns, and an array of sound effects. - 16 years of DM'ing experience! - Everything needed to make playing the game a breeze, and make your characters awesome. - I will have all sourcebooks ready to reference; and all prepared characters will have functional sheets in roll20 (with click-macro rolls enabled on the sheet)

Gameplay details

This adventure will be played via Roll20, with Discord for Voice. - Descent Into Avernus has depictions of poverty, a medieval version of police brutality, literal hell, and religious topics including sin, damnation, etc. Due to these elements, I will be including a Safety and Consent Checklist covering these elements that may be included as appropriate from the module. These elements may be adapted based on safety concerns. Also note, while this is not a specifically adult themed game, players should be able to handle themes in mature ways. Additionally, I will have Safety Card Tokens available to anonymously Drop on the Map at any point. If a player is uncomfortable with the content for any reason (including phobias, PTSD, and/or many more), Drag and Drop these into the map at any time for a safety pause.

How will character creation work

During Session 0, we will all build characters! Please come to the table with a character concept in mind, and I will have the Rulebooks available for anyone who wishes to read ahead! I also have freshly-created Pregenerated Characters from the core rulebook available to use if you're uncertain on creating your own character. Goals for Session 0: * Character Creation review - We'll go through the Character Creation Steps together; I know some folks will go full excitement and prepped ahead of time, but this is just a good chance to make sure everyone has their choices solidified (and it's a chance to change anything up before we begin gameplay). * Safety Talk - I'll explain the uses and functions of our Safety Cards, Additionally, we can discuss Lines & Veils, Hard Limits, and anything else we want to bring up to keep everyone safe at the table! * Establish the Party - Confirm party roles, starting equipment, etc. - Confirm and discuss connections between characters (This is a fun exercise I that I picked up in Monster of the Week, and it's a good chance to get some preemptive character relations started) * Roll some dice! We'll get the dice rolling and characters in use with any remaining time!!! 27 point-buy for ability scores. Level 5 Character Start! Starting Equipment, 500 Gold, and one uncommon Magic Item to begin play with! 12 Weeks of Downtime to give additional boons for your Character! Players' Handbook/Xanathars' Guide/Tasha's Cauldron are all okay!
