About the adventure
It's not every day you wake up with a cannonball splintering the wood above your nose, but today seems to be one of those days... In a ramshackle city of swashbucklers, intrigues, and cutthroats, sheltered by treacherous reefs and a Thieves' Code older than gods, you and your group of adventurers find yourselves in the crossfire as your island home is blockaded by strange grey ships that emerge without warning from unnatural fog. Now on the run, broke (as always), and with tensions rising... What do you do? A rollicking D&D pirate adventure in a custom setting, inspired by the likes of "Pirates of the Caribbean" and Scott Lynch's "Gentleman Bastard" series. ***** YARRR: It's been a while since I've run a pirate game, and I'm excited to change that! My name is Davey (he/they), and I'm a professional storyteller, actor, writer, music maker with the Bards For Hire, theatre director, and generally dabble in whatever I can find that isn't a real job. I lean toward role-play, story, and character-focused games. If you like a bit of RP, then this is likely a good game for you! This world was created with the players and is always evolving. As a new player you'll quickly get caught up on the story so far, get access to our ever-growing lore document for quick referencing, and have some opportunities to add your own touch to the world we've made :) ***** THINGS TO PREP: > Nothing! I enjoy building unique worlds around my players and their characters, so first we'll just have a chat about the world and the adventure so far, and the kind of swashbuckler you want to be, and we'll find a way to make it happen! The party is embroiled in a pirate tourny to decide on a new protector for their lovably chaotic adopted island home but have just discovered that they are about to be invaded by a rival nation. Ancient curses and mysteries are slowly being revealed, shaking the foundations of the world as we know it. There are betrayals, epic love stories, and plenty of shenanigans, so hop aboard! They could do with the help! 😂 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This is a long-running campaign with an INCREDIBLE party of Adventurers (level 8) - it is honestly one of my favourite campaigns I've ever had the pleasure to run! Current crew lineup: Twilight Cleric, Storm Sorceror, Drakewarden Ranger, & a Battlemaster Fighter (And no worries on lore learning, there's very little to know to get started!)

How to prepare
1. Have a D&D Beyond account (https://www.dndbeyond.com/create-account) 2. Have a working microphone (and preferably a webcam) That's it! You are welcome to use physical or digital dice. Once you're signed up I can guide you through character creation, catch you up on the campaign, and lore dump at you as much as you'd like! 🎲

Gameplay details
CHARACTER LEVELS Characters started at level 1 but are now level 8 ⚔️ PLAYER EXPERIENCE This game is open to all levels of play, but AT LEAST BEGINNER FAMILIARITY with D&D is highly encouraged. If you are brand new to the game, you can still join, but an additional session 0.5 booking with me is essential before session 1. During that session, I'll go over the rules with you, and have some practice so that we can keep the pacing fast and exciting once the campaign is underway! :) LGBTQIA+ FRIENDLY You're welcome in this game whoever you are. We have a wonderful group of utterly delightful players, and our world has characters of diverse gender and sexual identification 🏳️🌈 ***** SAFETY TOOLS: Player safety is a BIG THING at my table. Gaming is about play, and you can only play if you feel safe! - We will discuss what options work best for you. - I will stay on the call for 15 minutes after each session to chat and/or debrief with whoever would like to. - X, N, & O cards can be visual, messaged, or communicated in whatever way is easiest for you. - Luxon Technique is available for those who prefer it. - Several other options will also be given in terms of managing content warnings and triggers. I will never ask for details, and you never need to justify your preferences. - You can always submit stars and wishes via an optionally anonymous survey available on our Discord, or which can be told to me in any other way you'd like. I want to give you the best possible RPG experience! - Additional safety options are available if requested. How will character creation work
Character creation will be hosted on D&D Beyond. Feel free to come up with a character idea or two, but we will work together in session 0 to fill in our world and characters. You will also be able to make character changes between session 0 and session 1, so no problems at all if you like extra time to think! You are welcome to roll for stats (together during session 0), or use standard, or point buy.
