About the adventure

After the opening of its necropolis, the city of Wati is swarmed by hordes of restless undead. The heroes are called upon to navigate the forsaken streets and tombs of Wati's necropolis to find the potent artifact known as the Mask of the Forgotten Pharaoh, and confront the necromancer who wields it to raise the undead. However, enigmatic cultists wearing masks are also in pursuit of the artifact, aiming to resurrect a pharaoh from the distant past. Will the heroes triumph over the malevolent necromancer and restore the dead to their eternal rest, or is Wati destined to become a true city of the dead? This game draws inspiration from tales like "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Gods of Egypt," and "The Scorpion King." Join us for this epic adventure that is played every other Saturday through Fantasy Grounds VTT and Discord.

How to prepare

You will need the following: - Fantasy Grounds Unity (at least a demo copy) - Discord - Proper Mic (headset preferred) - Character submitted prior to session 0 I do not live stream or record any sessions.

What I provide

- Custom maps and Fantasy Grounds extensions to enhance play. - Syrinscape for theme music and sound effects. - All software and books needed via Fantasy Grounds. - I will input any characters submitted by PDF into Fantasy Grounds and provide images and tokens if not submitted by the player.

Gameplay details

Theme: Egyptian, Tomb Raider, Archeology Starting Level: 1st Mechanically, this will be standard point-buy with 27 points. I strongly disfavor stat dumps, especially Charisma, without appropriate story justification. I also disfavor gimmicky characters. One Mummy's Mask campaign trait must be selected at character creation. Considerably more effort should be on the personality, flavor and behavior of the character than on the mechanics themselves. There are also house rules that are in effect for this campaign that change some of the 5e game mechanics. I expect players to engross themselves in the roleplaying element and contribute interestingly to the story.
