In the verdant heart of Wilderland, nestled among the emerald hills and the gentle murmur of a lively river, there lay a small village named Whistlebrook. The thatched cottages, decorated with colorful flowering gardens, have started to crop up in the last year, a testament to the resilience of the people who called the Wilderland home. It has been a year since the demise of the dreaded Smaug, the fire-breathing terror that had cast a shadow over their land for far too long and many of these villages have popped up, dotting the landscape. Through the cobblestone streets, children frolick with unbridled glee, their footfalls tracing patterns in the fresh dust, as if etching their own stories into the very fabric of Whistlebrook's existence. Parents, gather in the warmth of the local inn, sharing tales of unyielding bravery over frothy mugs of ale, their voices animated with pride and gratitude for the new dawn that bathes their lives. While remnants of Smaug's dark reign still linger in the hearts and minds of the people, this fledgling settlement serves as a symbol of resilience and renewal. The villagers know that challenges await them, as shadows yet whisper of unknown perils. However, united in their determination, they face the future with unwavering optimism, painting the world with vibrant hues of joy and optimism, etching a brighter destiny for themselves and their beloved Whistlebrook. The One Ring (2nd Edition) is a Free League game put out beside some of their other wonderful games (Vaesen, Alien, Coriolis, Symbaroum, etc...). It is a narratively driven game and tends to move fairly quickly. New players are always welcome.

About the adventure
In the time since the Battle of the Five Armies the people of the Wilderland embark on a journey of recovery and renewal. Though the defeat of the goblins and the dragon Smaug has brought respite, could the forces of darkness be entirely vanquished. Amidst the celebrations of victory, whispers of a growing unease echo. Some say that deep within the dense foliage of the forest, a brooding malevolence still stirs…that the ancient evil that had plagued the Wilderland for centuries still lurks, biding its time…a constant reminder that true peace is fragile and the battle against darkness is far from over. As communities rebuild and flourish, there are those who remain vigilant, ever watchful for signs of the impending darkness. Wise seers and seasoned warriors keep a wary eye on the heart of the forest. The memory of past conflicts serve as a somber reminder that the battle for the soul of the Wilderland is ongoing.

How to prepare
Players should have a decent quality mic, a discord account (preferably set to push-to-talk) and a desire to have fun...my first rule is 'Don't be a jerk!'...so as long as you can abide the first rule, the rest is fairly easy.
What I provide
I will have the rulebooks, the corresponding adventure and the Foundry VTT that we'll use for the game. The only thing the player needs to bring is a desire to have fun.
Gameplay details
Players can expect a narratively driven game set in the Wilderland a few years after the Battle of the Five Armies. This will be a campaign open to all...whether you have played The One Ring or not. There will be a Session 0 in which we discuss how everything will work.

How will character creation work
We will create characters during the Session 0. If a player misses the initial session 0, I will make an effort to get with them outside of game-time to make a character. The system, while deep and very narrative, has simple character generation which shouldn't take long at all.
