The Tales of Iria
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The Tales of Iria is a high-fantasy Sword & Sorcery campaign set in The Land of Dark Dreams, a sprawling nobledark realm where hope endures against a tapestry of lurking shadows. Towering fortress-cities overlook wind-swept plains scarred by the echoes of ancient wars. Hidden among the ruins of civilizations long vanished, forbidden tomes whisper promises of power to those bold (or desperate) enough to claim them. Here, the line between triumph and tragedy is perilously thin, and the choices you make can ripple across kingdoms. Amid the grandeur and peril, you and your fellow adventurers will unravel mysteries that stretch beyond mortal understanding. The twisted remnants of primordial magic still slumber beneath the earth; in some places, that magic is revered, in others, it is feared. Whether you’re exploring haunted catacombs where aberrations lurk, negotiating uneasy alliances with powerful archmagi, or chasing rumors of lost relics, every quest has the potential to reshape the fate of the realm. Expect vivid roleplaying opportunities where you’ll confront moral dilemmas, forge (or break) alliances, and discover the hidden corners of your own character’s soul. At its heart, this is a campaign that champions narrative depth and player-driven storytelling. Combat is never a simple matter of might makes right; cunning strategy, heartfelt diplomacy, or even an unexpected truce can alter the course of a battle. Morally charged decisions will test your resolve, forcing you to weigh the price of victory against your party’s ideals. Will you sacrifice the few for the sake of the many? What risks will you embrace in your quest to drive back the darkness? I’m Bethany, your Game Master and guide through these perilous lands. With over thirty years of experience in TTRPGs, I’ve seen the power a truly immersive story can wield—both at the table and within our imaginations. My style blends rich lore, dynamic NPCs, and challenging encounters, all tied together with a deep respect for collaborative storytelling. I strive to create a space where creativity flourishes and where each player’s actions shape the unfolding epic. In The Tales of Iria, you’ll find yourself standing on the precipice of doom and destiny. Ancient pacts, simmering feuds between royal bloodlines, and hidden horrors awakened by ill-fated expeditions all serve as catalysts for your heroism. A single choice can open doors to unimaginable wonders—or unleash calamities best left in the dark. Overcome trials both physical and spiritual, bond with your companions through shared triumphs and tribulations, and ultimately carve your names into the annals of history. Will you rise to meet the looming threat and cast light into the shadowed recesses of The Land of Dark Dreams, or be consumed by the very terrors you seek to conquer? Gather your courage, stoke the fires of your ambition, and step forth. Your legend awaits among these pages of darkness and flame.

I have been playing games with Bethany for years and I keep coming back for more. The Tales of Iria campaign has been a favorite of mine and each time I have been a player of it there has been a new and entirely different experience waiting for me. Beth takes the time to world build around your character making you feel special and included in the lore of the world. I should also say that Beth doesn't try to stifle my creativity and I appreciate that about her. I daresay she actually encourages it.
Bethany is an amazing Game Master that I recommend without hesitation. This was my first time playing a Cyberpunk RPG, and was patiently guided through the character creation, introduced me to Talespire, and even helped with my Hero Forge model and character image. Bethany was great about collaborating with me on Discord and always responded quickly to my questions. I'm really looking forward to playing in more of her games!
I've loved D&D since my very first game. I've picked up games every night of the week, and not thought twice about it. So when I had an opening in my schedule and stumbled across Beth's game, I was just excited for the chance to start a new story from the beginning. I had no idea what was waiting for me in that first session. A world, vibrantly rich and alive, created with so much love and care that it becomes something more than maps and tokens in a VTT. She encourages players to engage with the world, to integrate themselves into it and become a vital part of the story beyond simply being the chosen heroes of the hour. More than that, Beth knows how to tell not just the heroic epics of glory and grandeur, but also a story of struggle and loss where the heroes can fail and must choose to pick themselves back up and press on. I do not know when the last time was that I shed actual tears during a session, but I did in Beth's game from the sheer depth of emotions she was able to evoke during the course of our campaign so far. It takes only a single session with Beth to see the incredible amount of planning and care that goes into her games. Maps are more than just 2D pictures, instead beautifully rendered 3D terrains within Talespire, giving the feel of actually being back at the table with friends. Ambiance is pristine, with music feeling almost tailor-made for each and every situation. She writes characters with interests and motivations outside the scope of the party that makes each and every game feel like it is taking place in a world that never truly sleeps. Stepping into one of Beth's games is to learn you are only a part of something so much larger, and she is there to be your guide and invite you along to becoming something that will leave an indelible mark on this world she's made to share with you.

How to prepare
Talespire is a program available on steam. It no longer has a cost for the guest edition! Additionally, I encourage players to make use of a token of their own creation used on HeroForge, which can then be utilized on Talespire. No purchase is necessary to use either of these items. A Microphone and Discord will also be required.
What I provide
Everything that you don't. Handouts, Music, the story, the setting.
Gameplay details
A Homebrew campaign set in the A Land of Dark Dreams campaign setting, using the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Ruleset. • Fully lit campaign maps using dynamic lighting. Additionally, upon player approval and consideration, I'd like to utilize a program called TaleSpire (Links below) to up the game to the next level. • Game Length - 3 to 4 hours. A fifteen minute break is allotted roughly two hours into each game. • I pride myself on ensuring that everyone at my table is having a good time. If you aren't having a good time? Then tell me about it! You're paying to be at the table, and you should be enjoying the experience. If you aren't, then hopefully I can do more to help with that. • Respect from me, respect from the players. This is a game of fun, and I go out of my way to make sure people are.
