Monster Hearts
MonsterHearts 2 | Campaign
About the adventure
By the time they hit adolescence, most people have gotten over their fear of the dark. They spend their midnight hour on gushy phone calls, diary ramblings, and wet dreams. They fall asleep peacefully, assured that the shadows hold no monsters. But the shadows do hold monsters. You know because you’re one of them. Wickedness dwells within your heart, hunger courses through your veins. High school weighs on you and teen drama puts you on edge, but you have power. This is your story, and what you do with that power. Our story uses Monsterhearts 2 mechanics and focuses on your characters; a group of teenagers who are newly discovering their identities as people, dealing with their natures as monsters, and of course; dealing with friendship, love and all the hardships that come with being a teen.
I am from GMT timezone, so we should fully discuss timezone differences to make sure we will scheudle the game on a day and time ideal for everyone. We will have Session 0 first and we can do rescheduling after we meet the number of players needed. Please also PM me with a character concept that you'd like to play after applying or include it in your application.

Onur was a wonderful, patient, and creative DM. He took his time and stayed cool while new-to Roll20 players figured how to operate the site. He did a great job going over rules and ensuring everyone would have a comfortable experience. He allowed for players to be creative but clearly new the rules which gave us structure as we adventured. He had a couple marvelous voices that fit the characters very well, and enhanced my enjoyment the story. I would absolutely play under Onur's DMing again. Thank you for a great first adventure!
I've been playing in a Theros campaign run by this DM for several months now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best experiences I've had in tabletop roleplaying. Every Saturday, I look forward to the next session, and they never disappoint! This DM is an absolute master of storytelling. The world-building is rich, and they bring the mythic themes of Theros to life in such a captivating way. Every session feels like a chapter in an epic saga, full of twists, character growth, and moments that keep me at the edge of my seat. The focus on narrative means that every choice matters, and my character’s actions feel impactful. On top of that, this DM is incredibly charismatic and brings a ton of energy to the table. Whether they’re roleplaying NPCs, describing the environment, or running combat encounters, it’s clear they put a lot of thought and effort into making each session memorable. They keep things moving smoothly and never let the pace drag, ensuring we’re always engaged. If you’re looking for a fun, immersive, and story-driven campaign, this DM is the one you want. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking an unforgettable D&D experience!
Onur is excellent at setting the scene, letting the players know where they are, what and who is around them, and, if applicable, what is currently happening. He focuses on each player and gives them a good amount of 'screentime'. He is very open with character Ideas and conforms to one's backstories, and includes them into the story.
Our is not afraid to work with you on making a great character. He knows his Worlds inside and out and really wants you to feel like you really exist there. Excellent npc interactions and while things may occasionally derail in a side tangent or joke, Onur can partake but will also pull the reigns back in so everyone can have fun but still keep things contained. Give 'em a shot!

How to prepare
A webcam, mic and a Discord accounts are very important. Webcam is optional, however it definitely creates more engagement and immersion with me and the rest of the group should you have a webcam. You are not required to fill out a character sheet before, but you need to provide me with a concept so I know what you want to play.
What I provide
I will create a Roll20 page with images of other side characters as well as providing visual clues about locations or anythig else that you might find during an investigation. I rarely draw battle maps, as I run too many games, but I provide detailed descriptions of people and places to give a vivid image for Mind's Eye. I can also provide you with source books and will be answering all your questions. Essentially, I will provide a safe table to explore teen angst and queer themes safely and inclusively, provide visual clues, source material and answer any questions you might have.
Gameplay details
This is my first time running Monster Hearts as a setting. The intention is to play as teenagers to engage in fun, wacky teenage drama with a mixture of mystery and some certain dark themes. That being said, some of the themes also mentioned on this adventure page can easily be taken out; these are some things that could come up unless they have been taken out during Session 0. I will be providing a Consent Form, which will give everyone the opportunity mention any individual lines and veils that we might have overlooked in the moment.

How will character creation work
We will do character creation together, particularly we will decide on their relationships with other player characters as well as other NPCs together. You should however prepare a brief backstory or at least a concept that you'd like to play as and inform me beforehand as to not go in completely blind.
