Orchard Vale: Homebrew 5E Campaign.

Orchard Vale: Homebrew 5E Campaign.

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

The village of Orchard Vale lies in the remote corner of a great Empire. Accessible only by a magically sealed pass that opens every few decades, the town is isolated but provides a pleasant living for it's residents. The pass has opened. Farmers, smiths, and other tradesmen are selling their wares to the cavalcade of merchants, imperial diplomats, and explorers that have flocked to this place. Those who have spent their entire lives in this small town have finally stepped out into the world.. and discovered many things are not what they expected. This game is planned to reach lev 20 with world-shaking consequences by the end. The adventure is custom built around the party, telling each character's story as we learn more and more about a changing world. We will play each week, skipped sessions will be rare with as much notice as possible when it does happen. Cover Art: Albert Bierstadt, public domain. I was looking to join my first adventure and sifted through StartPlaying for a DM, I was not disappointed. The particular game I was joining would require me to have to jump in near the endgame of the campaign. In less than 24hrs I had a response and a date for a session 0. From beginning to end, the process was seamless. I definitely recommend Brian! He should be your next DM. He runs multiple campaigns and I am sure that any one of them is bound to satisfy your level of comfort. Give him a shot, I know he won't disappoint. From songs to music videos, or videos summarizing your session, the attention and effort he puts in running his campaigns go above and beyond.

Flexable, puts effort into the storytelling. Some days are more story, some days are battle royale.

I'm two sessions in and having lots of fun. Encounters feel balanced but challenging enough where they are not boring. Fun interactions with fellow players and NPCs. He goes out of the way to make interactive side content that enhances the story.

How to prepare

Prefer a video demonstration? Check out my Setup Demo at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6SyrnIG9HQ Your #1 priority is to have a working microphone, headset, and a stable internet connection. If you have those, I am always happy to help you through everything else. You will need access to Discord for voice chat. This can be on your computer or mobile device. Video chat is optional. You will need free accounts on dndbeyond.com and roll20.net. If possible, I strongly recommend (but do not require) you also install the browser extension, "Beyond20" which will make your life much easier by letting you use DnD Beyond, Roll20, and Discord together. If you need help getting any of these set up, please contact me and I will be glad to help you out.

What I provide

I will be providing a private Discord server, virtual maps and tokens via Roll20, and all D&D sourcebooks, which I can share with you on dndbeyond.com.

Gameplay details

This game includes violence. Most content will be PG to PG-13. The language may get R-rated at times. We will be using the built in Safety Deck in Roll20 with Red (Stop), Yellow (Caution) and Green (GO/OK) cards. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, those with special needs and anyone who has ever felt bullied or excluded is welcome at my table.

How will character creation work

Character Sheets will be hosted on DND Beyond. You may use any official, published D&D material. No Unearthed Arcana or homebrew without prior approval. Use either Point Buy or Standard Array for abilities. If you prefer to use Roll20 exclusively, you may but you will not have access to my compendium, which is hosted on DnD Beyond. You may create a character ahead of time, but please be prepared to make changes at your first session.
