In the case of this adventure, each decision, no matter how small, may end up playing a part in the outcome and survivability of your characters. As a Horror experience, you can expect high tension, anticipation and time sensitive decision making. You will be put on the spot, you will be encouraged to lean into the tension and you will be faced with potentially dark decisions. Because of the nature of this content, it is important to note that players are able to step away at any moment, and safety tools will be highlighted even more so. This adventure is set in a region overshadowed by gloom and melancholy. Horror games should be thrilling and not something that impacts you negatively. As a DM I believe in RAI (Rules as Intended) over RAW (Rules as Written). I much prefer to create a fun and experimental atmosphere, whilst keeping the game fair for everyone. Creating your character
Characters will begin at level 1, with intial discussions on character creation happening in Session 0. Players then will create the characters in their own time, but can contact me if they need support. Characters will preferably be made on D&DBeyond (where my content is stored and shared) OR on Roll20 (if the player has access to their own content or wants to manually input). All offically published books are free to use, though anything with a "legacy" lable must use the updated version. Third party content is subject to approval, even if it is freely accessible on D&DBeyond.
High Roleplay, spooky adventure. Fully voiced monsters & NPCs. Still plenty of the adventure left. The group have been doing some side content and are now on track with the main 'story' of the game as they search for some of treasures to help defeat Strahd. The game will take place weekly at the same day/time, played on Roll20. Game Length: 3 - 4 hours. Sign ups within a certain threshold of the start time will be brought into the session the following week due to onboarding process. Please check the listing to see if there is a warning. As a rule of thumb, if you join a game within 12 hours of the start time, this will apply.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- A mic to talk, headphones/noise cancellation, & a stable internet connection are necessary. - You will need an account for; Discord, Roll20, D&DBeyond and (optionally) Syrinscape. - Level 1 Character Sheet must be prepared before Session 1 (but I can help if contacted before game), details of character creation will be gone over in Session 0. - (Optional) Download a piece of free software called Syrinscape Online Player to recieve music and sounds (discussed in Session 0). There is an option to use the player through a browser without a requirement for any downloads.

How Euan Buddie creates a safe table
Leading up to the game, a Lines & Veils document link will be sent out to be filled in. There are certain topics that will NOT be used regardless of the outcome (my personal Lines). Session 0 is the first session we have as a group and will contain important information, as well as going over rules/mechanic changes, etc. During the process of the game, Players are free to step away from the computer without a need to explain. We will be using X, N and O cards ( X - Discomfort with current content, N - Content is heading towards a place with discomfort, O - A check in with the group) to ensure that that the game remains fun and thrilling, not traumatising. Post game, we will check in to see how eveyone is feeling and provide an envorment of discussion about the contents and takeaways with room to feedback to me about your experiences.
