Storm King's Bane - Homebrew Sequel to Storm King's Thunder (Level 15-20)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Valhalla... who could ask for a better afterlife? Those who have earned their final reward as Champions of the realm, with more food, drink, pleasures than one can possibly dream of. You're meant to be here, you've won your place amongst the legends that call these halls home, why would you ever deign to leave? But there is unrest on the Material Plane. The winds of change blow with the beat of dragon wings as something stirs them to action against the Giants and the people of Faerûn once more. The Giants are mobilizing to whispers and warnings of a second Thousand Year War, and the small folk are caught in the crossfire. This burden cannot be carried by mere heroes alone. What the world needs are true Champions, but prophecy has not presented them and time is running out... In desperation the Gods have decided to craft their own fate and call upon you to carry out these monumental labors. Gather allies. Wield the relics of old. Defeat the Dragon Lords. Stop a second Thousand Year War before it begins....
For character creation, you are to build a RAW Level 15 adventurer with Standard Array or Point Buy using official published content. You may have 1 bonus feat at level 1, but you may not start with more than that single feat. Further creation instruction, the play space, and Session 0 documentation are available in my discord server, which you will gain access to when you join the game.

Jakob ran a fantastic one shot that painted a vivid picture of a unique homebrewed setting. I play or run D&D games 5 nights a week (so many that they begin to run together at times), and the session that I had with Jakob is one that I will carry with me and remember for a long time. The villain and his rise and fall, the combats and roleplay that developed, it was all fantastic. Jakob handled his table like a pro, subtly encouraging quieter players (like myself) to interact and describe, while deftly handling scene swapping to keep everyone engaged, factors which made the whole experience much more immersive than the average one shot has any right to be. I'll be actively keeping an eye on this GM to watch his rising star (and maybe snag a seat in a permanent game)!
I played a one shot with Jacob that he was kind enough to invite me along to - Character creation was a breeze, clear and upfront rules on how to do so. When it came to game time, he was inclusive and gave a brief talk about safety tools - We then swiftly moved on to playing and we were thrown straight into the action! Jacob knows the rules very well, was quick to resolve any rulings with a fair attitude towards Rule of Cool - He allowed, heavily, for player creativity and encouraged it during the combat - It wasn't a slog or slow at all and he kept the pace up to a fantastic degree. The rest of the one shot, after the first combat, ran very smoothly with time, and room, allowed for roleplay and banter among the group (the likes of which everyone was extremely kind and friendly as well) We then had a big finale with the boss that felt climactic and full of suspense - It ended in a very satisfying way - Jacob, and the rest of us, had a fantastic time and overall I would highly recommend him as a DM! While he might say that he is new, you could have fooled me! He made great use of the tools he had on hand, provided a VTT with maps and a soundtrack to accompany them - Definitely sign up with this DM the next chance you get because you won't regret it!!

How to prepare
Webcam not necessary, but mics will be. You will need to create characters on D&D Beyond or I can have some prepared for you (just let me know). I have a session 0 document for everyone to review that goes over the rules of my table.
What I provide
I'll be bringing a D&D Beyond campaign packed with content for character creation, along with maps and tokens on Owlbear Rodeo. Once you join shoot me a picture representing your character and I'll make a token of them to be used in play. Will also bring the good vibes, but if you bring your own it's exponential :D
Gameplay details
I have a Session 0 document written up for player safety and general rules. We will also be employing the Luxton technique and have an honest conversation around triggers or uncomfortable topics. X, N, O available upon request. After a short review of any topics you specifically aren't comfortable being covered in this session, we'll be hopping right into it to make the most of your time. Gameplay will be fast paced and dense, but with plenty of space for roleplay! Combat will happen on Owlbear Rodeo 2.0.
