    About the adventure

A game for teenaged heroes navigating their lives, figuring out who they are, and saving their city from the villain who just defeated its greatest heroes. The game will be very narrative and character focused, with particular attention paid to questions of who the characters are, and how much a person is defined by the mistakes of their past, versus what they do today and tomorrow. In the end, this is a story of redemption and saving the city - or of embracing your inner demons, and creating a Hell on Earth.

    How to prepare

A headset with mic will be necessary, but webcams are not. Familiarity with Apocalypse Engine games is not *necessary,* but it also wouldn't hurt. The ability to play through the Role VTT and Discord will be needed, and it would be helpful to be familiar with the appropriate genre fare. If I might recommend the following series and comics: Young Justice Teen Titans X-Men: Evolution Static Shock

    What I provide

I will bring the books, as well as trying to provide PDFs of the relevant playbooks for the players (hard to do with some third-party playbooks). Players will retain access to the campaign and its logs after the campaign has been completed.

    Gameplay details

Players can expect a player character driven campaign starting with their first team-up, and eventually becoming defenders of the city... or, depending on their choices, destroyers of it. There's a mystery behind the sudden appearance of Lucifer and the battle that followed, one that stands to rock the entire world if it can't be resolved! Characters are expected to help drive the plot, as is typically the case with Powered by the Apocalypse games like Masks. Teenaged drama and super heroic shenanigans will feature prominently while your characters figure out just who they are, deep down inside, and what they plan to do with their lives.

    How will character creation work

Characters will be created at the Session Zero, from core playbooks as well as those taken from third-party sources. All third-party content can be suggested, but the GM reserves the right to veto specific examples that are either unbalanced or inappropriate for the setting (not that either is that likely to happen.) If you want to play a non-core playbook, please at least bring enough information with you that I can find the writeup.

    Players can expect

    • Roleplay: High
    • Puzzles: Low
