About the adventure
This campaign is Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, but it has been expanded and improved to be more heroic and and a more streamlined story. This game is suited for the beginner and the veteran alike, though it is considered to be more of a challenge than some of the premade modules. Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter’s wrath has so coldly preserved—as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden’s everlasting night? My forte as a storyteller is folding in the player characters (PCs) into the narrative in a meaningful way, bringing NPCs to life that you will love and hate (and sometimes both), and making the world feel open and dynamic. This particular campaign has a vast potential for exploration that I want to tap into.

What I provide
I bring to the board a Fantasy Ground Unity Ultimate License as well as many licensed products for 5E D&D (including Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden). Further, I have added a lot of content to the setting to allow for more exploration, I have a wealth of knowledge and familiarity of TTRPGs as a DM so that you have a solid and positive experience in gameplay. I am an author that brings to the table a rich world in which to explore and I am a teacher that uses those skills to help players understand how the game is played.
This campaign involves a balance of planning, fighting, exploring, and socializing though this varies greatly based on player choice. There is a ton of freedom although that can be daunting and choices have consequences. This game contains the themes of war, danger, and evil not appropriate for the faint of heart. This is an intense storyline that grapples with darkness, extreme cold, isolation, off-screen cannibalism, mental assault, ritual sacrifice, child endangerment, harm to animals, and murder along with other standard D&D tropes. In addition, since it is a sandbox (or a series of smaller sandboxes) and we may not know what we come across ahead of time I use the safety tools TTRPG Safety Toolkit Extension by mattekure which allows for X-cards. I am also very approachable with any concerns that you may have.
How will character creation work
Characters will be created during Session 0. This will allow for their personal narrative to be folded into the overarching story. Characters will be made according to the standard rules, but with access to Unearthed Arcana and Xanathar's Guide to Everything. If you have something a little more wild planned message me and we will see what we can do.
