About DM Robert

Hello, Adventurers! I’m DM Robert—though my table knows me as “Dice Monkey,” because I’m not above rolling on a random table and trusting fate to do something hilarious. I’m the founder and a content creator at Dungeon Delver Tabletop, a published TTRPG creator, and I’ve been rolling dice since 1988 (GMing since 1990). Do you love roleplay? Do you enjoy crunchy tactical combat? My games blend character-forward storytelling with clear, fair mechanics and encounters that reward smart teamwork. Expect meaningful choices, memorable NPCs, and action with real stakes—plus room for creative solutions, bold plans, and the occasional chaotic goblin. I aim for inclusive, welcoming tables where everyone gets spotlight time and players can laugh hard, cheer louder, and sometimes catch a few feels (in the good way). Behind the screen, I’m fueled by coffee, supported by my wife Lady Raya Clair, and inspired by our eight delightful agents of chaos. If you want epic tales, tactical fights, and a GM who loves the craft, come join my table.

I got started GMing...

I started GMing because dog-eared rulebook in 1988 lit a fire: I wanted to build worlds where heroes(and chaotic goblins) could shine. Storytelling lets people connect, laugh, and heal—so I keep the table fun, inclusive, and a little ridiculous. Dice Monkey approved. Fueled by coffee & family chaos.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Story-driven, tactical, inclusive.

How DM Robert runs games

Do you love roleplay? Do you enjoy crunchy tactical combat? Then you’ll feel right at home at my table. I’m DM Robert (“Dice Monkey”)—founder/content creator at Dungeon Delver Tabletop, TTRPG player since 1988 and GM since 1990. Expect character-forward stories, big choices, and tactical encounters with clear stakes and fair rulings. I lean into creative problem-solving, table buy-in, and inclusive play—serious when it matters, delightfully ridiculous when it doesn’t. Random tables make guest appearances, chaotic goblins are always on the table, and the goal is simple: memorable moments, earned victories, and a party that leaves the session smiling.

DM Robert's ideal table

What my table is like My table is story-forward with crunchy, fair tactical combat—a place where roleplay matters, choices have weight, and the dice get their moment to be dramatic. I’m DM Robert (“Dice Monkey”), and yes: random tables show up when they add surprise, momentum, and a little mischief—never to punish, always to spark new story. You can expect: Character-driven play with memorable NPCs, strong hooks, and room for your backstory to matter Tactical encounters with clear objectives, readable battlefields, and teamwork-friendly challenges Rulings that are consistent and transparent—I’m here to keep things moving and keep it fair Inclusive, welcoming table culture where everyone gets spotlight time A tone that can swing from epic to ridiculous (chaotic goblins absolutely included) Players who fit well here You’ll fit right in if you like: Roleplay (even if you’re new to it) and you’re willing to engage with the party and the world Tactical combat and enjoy making smart choices, coordinating, and adapting when plans explode Collaborative storytelling—sharing the spotlight, supporting other players’ moments, and building on what others put down A little unpredictability and improvisation when the table throws a curveball General vibe Think “friends telling a great story together,” with a steady pulse of strategy and a strong preference for table respect. We’ll laugh, we’ll clutch victories we earned, and we might even get a little emotional when the narrative hits. The goal is always the same: fun, memorable sessions where you feel seen, challenged, and excited to come back next week.
